    The photos are great, I especially like the one with the cat. Do you know what the cultural context of these amulets is? Buddhist, I am guessing, but why the vast numbers of sellers ( and buyers)?

      Yes, they’re Buddhist amulets. I think people wear them to bring themselves luck, prosperity, fertility, depending on the type of amulet.

    Where is this amulet market? There is a large one out at Wongwian Yai which is worth a look. Very much locals only…
