Hello sunshine

140329-029-edited

After weeks of grey, drizzly weather, the sun has begun to force its way through the clouds above Hanoi this week. Not bright, blazing sunshine by any means, but a soft, hazy sunshine that’s perfect for street portraits.

We weren’t lucky enough to see the sunshine on our recent first visit to Hanoi. Reading your blog for several months before we went to Vietnam gave me a good idea of what to expect and what I wanted to photograph. I would have liked to be able to take more close up photos of people but it didn’t prove possible. I guess speaking Vietnamese, even a little, would be a great help! Your photos inspired me to have a go with taking black and white shots too.

Beautiful faces captured so well in this light. I especially love that first photo, and the little smile captured there.
